Tom - I just wanted to drop you a line re:
Willy Wilkes and his Vintage Radio shop in PA - your site referred me to
him. The previous owner of my 1968 365GT2+2 had removed the original
Blaupunkt (euro spec 4-band radio) for a modern unit. Fortunately
he saved it and had it serviced - it seems to work very well. But
sometime in the last 10 years the dash plate disappeared. Over the
last several months I have searched vintage radio shops in Europe and US
for the dash plate - no one had one - even Willy had looked (he was the
first guy I contacted) in his stash. Last week he found one - I have
no idea where he found it - and he contacted me ASAP. I held my breath
because I've been in these monopoly pricing situations for parts for the
Ferrari before . . . Willy only wanted what he paid for it
- $45!!
I sent him $60 (to cover the shipping and then some). It doesn't
begin to pay for the time he spent looking for it or the time he spent
helping me figure out the radio/antenna motor wiring on that unit.
Good man.
